A Towngate Developments’ client story

When building houses, we create beautiful homes in great locations, have a reputation for build quality, carefully source high-quality materials and have an eye for detail.

But don’t just take our word for it.

We chatted to Paula Briggs, who recently purchased one of our four-bed properties in Bourne, Lincolnshire.

Let’s find out about her experience.

Overview

Property location: Bourne, Lincolnshire.

Exchange date: December 2021

The opening chapter

Paula and her husband raised their family in an equestrian home with acres of land, horses and space. Their children flew the nest, and Paula realised that chapter of their lives had ended. It was time for a new one.

They packed up and moved to Deeping St Nicholas. A small village nestled between Market Deeping and Spalding. But they didn’t settle.

The couple didn’t have a property type or specific location in mind—they have a sociable family, so space for people to gather and stay over was pretty much the only box to tick.

Being Estate Agents themselves, Paula and her husband heard about Towngate, and their properties, so they decided to go and look at the house in Bourne. They instantly dismissed it because of a shared driveway and close proximity to a business car park.

However, something was telling Paula to go back to the property and have a look inside. So, she booked a viewing, went on her own, and absolutely fell in love with the house.

That same day, Paula and her husband went to view the house together and made an offer.

The story builds

Something was worrying Paula, though. They’d made an offer on a previous Towngate house but pulled out of the sale a couple of months into the process due to a conveyancing concern (non- Towngate related). Paula was worried they’d destroyed the relationship they had with our team.

The Happily Ever After

They needn’t have worried. Paula describes Dan Towngate as “the perfect gentleman, and I now consider him a friend.” She goes on to say how positive, proactive, and supportive the Towngate team were throughout the entire process, and they still care about the property nine months later.

We asked Paula if she had that ‘wow moment’ when she viewed the property, and she said, “as an estate agent, I tell my clients when they view a house, it’s not necessarily what they see, it’s how they feel. And when I viewed this property, I was blown away by how it looked AND how it made me feel. It instantly felt like home.”

Paula went on to say how much she loves her Towngate home, and the attention to detail is exceptional. She enjoys being in the countryside, and being close enough to walk into town is still a novelty.

We asked Paula what it was about the Towngate property that was so different from the rest of the houses she’d seen, and she said, “it’s just so uniquely special. It’s our home for life. We can’t better it. 10 months in, and we still pinch ourselves.”
